We migrated to Active Collab abount 2 months ago after attempting to work with Basecamp, Trello, and NutCache. The combination of project management, team+client collaboration, time tracking, expense tracking, and project templates, API, and accounting add-on integrations made this hard to beat. The UX is also the best that we've come across.

We haven't found anything significant that we would improve about it so far. The integration could be tighter more extensive with platforms like Xero, but its more than other providers are doing, and the API makes up for it.

This is allowing us to manage software, mobile, and web application development projects with team of developers which very mixed experience. The ability to create templates has been invaluable. Permission management, and client or client+ users has been really helpful. Tracking time and expenses, project goals, tasks, and deadlines has been invaluable. The platform is really well thought and UX is WAY better than everything else we've tried. The mobile app could use some work but its on its way.

ActiveCollab is a great platform to manage our projects but without a missing dashboard it is quite bothersome and wondersome as well. We would love to see a great, visually appealing dashboard to view and manage most of the features. A project involves so many factors; from task assignment to tasks completion alongside status, invoices, billing, communication, reporting, transfer of and so on. There are many good platforms out there but none of them offer a complete range of variety which ActiveCollab has to offer, it is your all-in-one solution.

Some people might not agree with me, but visual representation of the data is very much appealing as well as easy to understand in one go, however, the supporting features for visual data are missing here and we really don’t understand why. It is quite an unfortunate situation with all the good features it offers you.

ActiveCollab has been with us for a long time and we love using it to manage simple and complex projects all under one roof. The management of projects is relatively easy as compared to its competitors and people find it an easier option to work with while handling already complex projects. Highly recommended to anyone who is looking for an all-in-one solution when it comes to project management. It not only helps with the management of projects but you can also make the most out of it by handling, billing, invoices budgets alongside clients all under one roof and in incredibly low pricing plans.

Great tool, its interface is simple, practical and easy to see. In addition, I love how projects can be displayed and searched, and it also has multiple features that make it irreplaceable. It covers the integration of the calendar, task management, expense and time tracking, customer estimates and billing. integrated, discussions with customers are organized and organized at all times. ActiveCollab is undoubtedly a great tool, however its mobile version is not what we expect, some of its tools are slow and sometimes it does not perform what I want, but in general the computer version has worked very well.

ActiveCollab 5 has improved User interface and looks great and very intuitive. The provides great flexibility to include Project team members from various geo locations as well as providing to 3rd party consultants working on the projects. ActiveCollab also offers on-premise installation option apart from the hosted SaaS model which makes it very flexible catering to companies with varied data security and clod hosting policies. The system does not have the flexibility to integrate with any thrid-party file storage like a Google Drive, Dropbox or Amazon S3 which makes it cost effective easier to manage, especially when we are using a self-hosted version. All the files related to a specific project are not presented in a very easy to sort manner where we can navigate through files without having to dig through the tasks related to the files. Managing teams of software developers and consultants across multiple geographic locations to deliver support services to customers. The project members are not always full time employees of the same company but would need access to specific projects and files and information. All the project submissions including the code files as well as documentation are submitted, exchanged and collaborated through activecollab.

ActiveCollab is about the only high quality workflow product that doesn't charge per user. It has a clean no-nonsense UI that is easy to stare at and use. Project, to-do's, and team management are intuitive and flexible enough to mend to all types of products and team organizations. It has customer facing views/logins, a time-tracking app, and an ever increasing amount of other integrations like Slack or Quickbooks. It is the best bang for the buck as far as workflows and project management is concerned and if you're willing to deal with a few of its fundamental quirks, you can shed a number of other apps you may be using.

ActiveCollab seems a little confused as far as being an all inclusive software that fundamentally lacks features other project management (or time management) softwares have. I wish ActiveCollab had a chat feature (although it does interact with Slack) and the time management only allows a user to time track on to-do's that they're assigned (although in the backend in the software, anyone can add a time entry to any task). Likewise there's no simple way to look at all of your projects and see them labeled by client (you have have to click a drop down tab and sort everything you'll ever need to see in a more focussed view). Reporting works similarly- there's not an easy way to create your own report (although you can save certain parameters within pre-determined reports). Some info on the reports are only viewable by downloading .csv, not in the actual app. There seems to be a few easy intuitive features like those that were dropped, or were half thought through when implemented.

We have solved the yearn for an inclusive project management system that stores time entries, allows multiple contractors and clients access, has some sort of customizable reporting, and on top of all of that looks good. It's pretty much in a league and price range of its own, and I think with a few minor additions could be the best project and workflow management software out there. It has allowed us to easily track projects, rates, budgets, and time entries in one place for us and our clients to see. I'm always surprised ActiveCollab isn't much much bigger than it is.
