It isn't just a "live chat" tool. It can help elevate your entire customer support and helps you say in touch with your customers, even on the go.
The functionality is a bit complex and ironically, their support is not very efficient.
Tawk.to helps in effective customer service. I am able to manage all customer queries and complaints and also offer real-time support to them.
It's a good tool for the price, once you know how it works, you can manage the chats and the people who can access every chat
I miss some features and I think the platform should improve the UX/UI
I can easily have a live chat in the company's site and landing pages. I can collet leads when we are offline with the form.
Firstly, I like how tawk.to brings online web visitors together with teams, mainly customer support representatives. I can't overlook the fact that tawk.to has a mobile application that is easy to download, install, setup and start using it on the spot.
I do not like how tawk.to is hard to integrate to websites, especially if you do not have web design tactics. In addition, I hate how tawk.to needs robust internet connection to use.
In app messaging. I use tawk.to to communicate with visitors who visit our website on a daily basis. Lead development.
Ability to add shortcut messages to quickly communicate with customers. Like the wide variety of emojis that are available. Ability to see what pages customer have been to and to see what they are typing in order to anticipate answers.

We can work in team on Tawk thanks to multi-licences and whispers. I also like the gain of time permitted by the automation (triggers) and shortcuts for the most current questions.
The triggers misfunction sometimes. The visitors of our website can receive triggers as "How can I help you?" even in the night time when we cannot answer them (out of the programmed hours). Moreover it is not very easy to master at the beginning.
Most of the visitors do not read correctly the articles of our website and we can orient them in the good direction or correct the misunderstandings thanks to the chat. We can also help our customers in their navigation on the platform.
Tawk enabled me to set up a chat on my website so that potential clients could communicate with me straight from the website. This would reduce rejections since they did not have to leave the website to communicate.
Tawk did not have a lot of options when it came to the auto-response system. Instead, it could only capture the visitor's personal information rather than all the details about what they wanted to buy from me.

This Chat software is free, and if you are new to e-commerce and can't afford to spend zillions on softwares, Then this is your go-to option. It serves the purpose and connects your customer to you.
There are many things I didn't like about this software. You can't monitor who is on your website in real-time. There are packages for everything. Automation is very limited or less. The customers who come on this chat don't get added to your Shopify or other lists.
We were just using this in the beginning when we were short of funds to buy professional paid alternatives with many other features. The best benefit is that it's free and serves the purpose of connecting your customer to you.
I loved that it was for free and I loved the chat features.
I repeatedly asked for help as my clients complained they did not get mails from the helpdesk system. I repeatedly complained to Tawk.to and they did nothing to solve it. They tried blaming it on me, but whenever I used my own mail to reply to customers all was fine. It was only in their helpdesk tidket system that mails were too frequently not recieved by my clients, which actually, caused me quite much damage.
In the end - I had to stop using it due to the problems as it was not reliable. Otherwise - if you want them only as a chat then they are fantastic.
It's a great cost-effective Tool for interacting with clients. We have our FAQ & Help section built around this.
Their customer support is the worst. Seems like a mistake going with them as they don't seem to care after we based our customer support infrastructure on this tool

The UX is better than the competition and made me test the service.
Despite marketing itself as a free service, I quickly discovered that the reality is far from the promise. First and foremost, the claim of being a "free" service is misleading. While they do offer a basic version for free, it's essentially a bait-and-switch tactic. Customization options are limited, and the design options for the chat widget are quite basic. The ticketing system only works with their knowledge base website and there is no option to import the data from your old knowledge base. One of the most disappointing aspects of my experience with Tawk.to was their inflexible and seemingly unfair refund policy. After realizing that the service did not meet my expectations, I decided to cut my losses and requested a refund on the very same day of purchase. To my dismay, Tawk.to outright refused any refund, leaving me stuck with a service that failed to deliver on its promises.
